However, Gen 8 has not been graced with the ancient flying death whale’s stormy presence, and as such the ability, and its most infamous users have fallen far out of favor (although Raichu saw some niche series 5 and 6 usage). Lightning Rod has historically been a very niche ability, with its best users limited support Raichu, or Mega-Manectric to counter the terrifying Thunders of opposing Primal Kyogre or to protect your own.
